The People Experience team at OutSystems are known for their strategic approach to learning and leadership. Before selecting a partner, they conducted a comprehensive Learning Needs Assessment (LNA) that included surveys, focus groups, and one-to-one interviews to identify core leadership challenges. Their findings revealed opportunities to strengthen skills in collaboration, alignment, managing difficult conversations and developing talent.
Given OutSystems high-performance culture, it was critical to find a partner capable of matching their high standards, both in terms of learning impact but also brand quality to create a programme that really wowed their team. They were also looking for a provider that could work collaboratively and iteratively, co-designing a bespoke leadership experience that reflected their values and pace of innovation.
With over 300 managers to develop across global regions, the solution needed to be interactive, scalable and remote-first that delivered consistency of experience and measurable impact across time zones.
To meet OutSystems’ ambition for a world-class leadership experience, we designed a fully bespoke programme: Rise. Developed over four months in close partnership with the People Experience team, Rise was co-created to equip managers with the skills, confidence and mindset to unlock performance in themselves and their teams.
Our collaboration spanned the full learning lifecycle, from discovery and insight gathering through to brand design, content creation, learning design and asset development, alongside targeted communications and learner engagement support. The result was a programme that felt uniquely “OutSystems” but with the credibility that an external brand could bring.
The Rise journey consisted of five 2-hour modules focused on the critical capabilities identified in the Learning Needs Assessment: Driving Collaboration, Creating Alignment, Developing Talent, Offering Candour and Continued Growth.
When Rise launched for pre-enrolment, the response was exceptional with 41% of the 220 target leaders enrolled within days, without any reminders. Since then, the programme has evolved through two design iterations, driven by participant feedback and shifting business needs, ensuring it remains current and high-impact.
Today, Rise continues to be one of OutSystems’ most popular leadership experiences, with over 140 managers having completed the programme to date and a third edition scheduled for Q4 2025, followed by further cohorts in 2026.

OutSystems had three key success metrics for Rise. They wanted people to feel supported in their growth and opportunities to grow, for the programme to be useful and build their confidence, and to put their learning into practice.Post-Rise we’re proud to have achieved every single metric:In addition to the three core metrics, Rise continues to be their most highly scored learning solution to date with a Net Promoter Score of 71.
